Support RPBO

Rocky Point Bird Observatory has been monitoring birds on Vancouver Island since 1994.  As a long-time volunteer, I’m always looking for new ways to garner support for the organization.  I’m hoping that people will be interested and/or entertained enough by my quest to lend their support to this important conservation organization.

You can donate directly on the RPBO site, or pledge an amount based on how many species I find on Vancouver Island in 2015.

Here are some sample ideas for pledges.  The amount increases at each milestone.

  1. Hello Ann,
My husband was a list keeper (of birds but also of many things, he was orderly). He passed away a little over 2 years ago. I have since tried to keep up our birding (I was the spotter, he was the namer). A fellow birder in a meetup group told me about your blog. If my husband were alive and well he would try to follow some of your sightings (he phoned the now-defunct birdline everyday) if he were alive and ill he would follow your blog I am sure. So I pledge one dollar a bird in his name Don Demers.

    1. Thank you so much Andree! I am sorry for your loss, but glad that you are still out birding. I hope our paths will cross out in the field.
